The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget A team,
opened their regular
season with 1-1 tie
at home game against
the Guelph Jr.
Gyphons at the RBC
on Sunday.
The Lady Sting
showed some rust
early in the game,
as they had a two
week layoff .Guelph
opened the scoring
in the first period
with a deflection
off a defender which
found its way to the
back of the net.
The Lady Sting
continued to improve
as the game went on,
and tied the game
midway thru the
second period.
Teighan MacNeill
slammed a rebound to
the back of the net,
off an initial shot
by Marissa Johnson.
Both teams had
chances in the 3rd
period, but were
shutout by the
goalies.
Ashley Norland was
in net for the Lady
Sting.
Both teams will have
a chance to pull out
a win, as a rematch
is set for next
Saturday in Guelph.
