Foursome Are Week's Top Bowlers

                           Foursome Are Week’s Top Bowlers  

          Greg Gray, Justin Parkkila, Ben Lapointe and Morgan Pelkie are the top bowlers in Lambton County Tenpin Association bowling action this past week. They all hurled their leading scores in different leagues at Marcin Bowl.

          Gray rolled 768 (266-289 – 97 pins over average – 192 pins over average for three games) in the Sarnia Reserve Mixed League to record the high triple of the week.  It was Gray`s personal best triple and single.

          Parkkila rolled his career 2nd perfect game in the Sunday Morning Men’s League to have the high single honours. He fired the gem in his first game on lanes 17 & 18 ending the day with a 695 triple. It was the 3rd perfect game in Lambton County Tenpin Association action this season.

          Fifteen year Ben Lapointe wheeled 642 (246 – 71 pins over average) in the Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League to record the gent’s youth high triple. Lapointe, who started bowling at age 4, has seen his bowling skills improve daily rewarding him already with many tournament victories in his young bowling career. He has won several provincial single, doubles and team tournaments. He has 2 victories and a second place finish in the Youth Bowling Tour which commenced two years ago. He also has won a Marcin Bowl youth shoot out tournament  this year. 

         Thirteen old Morgan Pelkie bowled 632 (237 – 237 -71 pins over average) in the SMAA Juniors division to record the girl’s youth high triple. Her previous high triple was 604. Morgan started bowling at age 5 and her highest game is 262..   She has had great success in her young bowling career so far, winning the provincial handicap tournament in her division in 2011 and winning her scratch division in the 2013 provincial tournament in London.

          Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Three will take place on Tuesday December 2nd at 6:30 on the PBA Scorpion oil pattern lane conditions. 

          Mike Shephard pitched 758 (246-255-257) in Marcin Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League combat. He was stalked by Matthew Thompson 717 (247-255), Mike Marciniszyn 715 (277), Jason Lapointe 714 (233-246-235), Chris Luke 708 (248-269), Jeff Raymond 703 (242-234), Shawn Cotterill 694 (257), Jim Lapointe 685 (236-239), Andre Dion 685 (248), George Reid 683 (235-236), Al Scott 675 (233-256 – 73 pins over average), Kyle Adamson 663 (239), Pat Lacasse 257, Bob Spence 254, Chad Zonneville 243, Jean Guy Morin 249, Brian Watson 238, Connor Smith 233, Mario Gonzalez 232 and Bill Best 232-230. He was trailed by Larry Plumb 664 (257), Todd Amerlinck 613 (244), Derick Wilker 601 (214-227), Brian Core 594 (235) and Corey Lefebvre 549 (211).         Dave LeClair fired 734 (247-240-247) In Marcin Border City Men’s League rivalry. The women’s main scores were Lise Patterson 521 (200), Lorraine Boss 471 and Lynn Levi 439 (169). Team standings are Big Dipper 64, Earth 48, Milky Way 43, Pluto 40, Sun 38, Little Dipper 36, Moon 36 and Saturn 31.

         In Hi-Way Target Trios Mixed League play, the men’s high scores were Neil Sinclair 651 (231-225) and Sean McCallum 202. The ladies’ best scores were Jackie McLellan 203 and Kaye Brander 191. 

         In Marcin National Farmers Union Mixed League action, Joe Simmons took care of the men’s high scores with 648 (220-216-212) while Randy Raaymakers was tops for the ladies with 522 (196).

        In Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League fun, the gentlemen’s notable scores were Joe Borody 645 (210-234), Jerry Borody 620 (242 – 76 pins above average), Marcel Lajoie 597 (212-204), Joe Bourgeois 582 (203-206), Mike Woodall 530 (223) and Albert Verbeek 190. The women`s noted scores were Tonie Verbeek 483 (191), Denise Walker 466 (174), Nicole Johnson 442 and Stephanie Hurst 182.

        In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League activity, the best scores were Esther Waybrant 445 (167), Sue Sokol 427 (169) and Diane Ross 158. Team standings are “Hot” Dog 69, Donkey Kong’s 69, Lamb Chops 64, Cow Patti’s 60, Rocking Horse 52 and Ditch Pig 46.

         In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies League play, top scores were Cheryl Millar 560 (187-200), Sandra Dennis 502 (194), Joy Timington 480 (181), Sandra Paluch 457 and Shirley Stark 173. Team standings are Alley-Oops 35, Strikers 29, Banana Splitz 24, We’ve Been Framed 23, Pairs And Spares 22 and Head Pins 12.

          In Marcin Tuesday Night Ladies League action, leading scores were Laura Robertson 555 (203-183), Dawn Pelkie 544 (197), Janice McMillan 536 (184), Kathryn Tetreault 510 (202), Jocelyn VanEkeren 494, Carol Jean 489 (187), Diane Willemsen 476, Shirley Matthews 475, Melissa Crowe 194 and Wendy Lapointe 182. Team standings are Mel’s Angels 168, Split Decision 155, Team Eight 151, Smiley Girlz 145, Investors Group 131, M.V.B’s 128, B.J’s 119 and Lucky Seven 94.

         Topping off the men`s scores from the Sarnia Reserve Mixed League were Bill Smith 598 (214) and Roger Williams 542. The women`s upper scores were Cid Bearhart 501 (193), Julie Young 490 (212), Lana White 480 and Becky Adams 180 – 74 pins above average. 

         In the Marcin SMAA Intermediate/Senior division, the ladies’ best scores were Rachel McGrath 536 (189) and Mikayla Durley 422 (150). The gents’ high scores were Brian Riberdy 548 (188-182), Joshua Trott 483 (189-180), Lucas Pawley 423 (181), Matt Disper 171, Branden Riberdy 161, Dawson Yates-Strangway 147 and Zachary Deuning 137.

        Topping off the girls’ scores in the SMAA Juniors division were Caprice Hill 386 (144), Madison Kehler 420 and Hollie-Anne Jean 369 (142). The boys’ upper scores were Ethan Boucher 483 (200 - 62 pins over average), Patrick Cullis 426 (179) and Aiden Osborn 398 (159).

        In the Marcin SMAA Preps division, the best girl bowler was Emily Power with 256 (98). The boys’ upper scores were Cam Parkkila 473 (190 – 84 pins over average – 155 pins over for three games), Kole Parkkila 395 (172 – 68 pins over average) and Noah Gauthier 356.

       In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, the main scores belonged to Cecelia Rochon 240 (97), Taylor Button 205 (90), Brody Manley 190 (87) and Mya Hanley 185 (73).
