Sarnia Lady Sting Midget A Weekend Games Split
wednesday november 26, 2014

The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget A team travelled to
Walkerton on Saturday to play
the top ranked Capitals. The
Lady Sting would open the
scoring in the first period on a
great solo effort by Tabetha
Duquette. Duquette rushed the
puck up the boards, before
cutting to the net and beating
the Walkerton goalie on the
glove side.
The Lady Sting would take a 1-0
lead into the 2nd
period. In the 2nd
period, the Lady Sting would
find themselves chasing the
play, and gave up 3 goals before
they could regroup and get back
on their game.
The Lady Sting trailed 3-1
heading into the 3rd
period and had several good
scoring chances to close the gap
to 3-2, but it was Walkerton
that scored on a screened shot
from the point to take a 4-1
lead and secure the win.

On
Sunday November 23, the Sarnia
Lady Sting hosted the London
Devilettes at the RBC center.
The Lady Sting were two points
behind the Devilettes in the
standings and in need of a win.
The Lady Sing started the game
strong, but was unable to
capitalize on any of their
chances. In the 2nd period the
Lady Sting were shorthanded for
most of the period, as a major
penalty was called against them.
The Lady Sting fought off the
penalties, and seemed to
frustrate the Devilettes heading
into the 3rd period.
The game was heading towards a
0-0, tie as both goalies refused
to give up any goals. The Lady
Sting were able to get on the
score board late in the 3rd
period, when Vanessa Wardell
passed the puck from behind the
net hitting a Devilettes player
and crossing the goal line.
The Lady Sting played determined
hockey to close out the game and
grab the win and the two points.
Ashley Norland had a strong game
in net to get the shutout.
