The Avengers Come From Behind to Win Peewee Title in SMAA Final
monday november 3, 2014

2014 Peewee Champions
Lanxess Avengers

Weather in the Peewee game definitely affected the play as numerous brief periods of driving, cold rain made the ball difficult to handle.

The Vidal Pharmacy Buzz Saw jumped all over the Lanxess Avengers in the first half. Noah Lester opened the scoring on a 60 yard run. Following an Avenger fumble, the Buzz Saw struck again, this time from 6 yards out on a Rob Persichetti off tackle play.

The Buzz Saw increased their lead to 18-0 on an electrifying 100 yard run by Persichetti. With 27 seconds remaining in the first half Nicholas Vacek put the Avengers on the board. His convert narrowed the lead to 18-8 at the half. It appeared that a possible upset was in the making.

However, as they have done numerous times this year, the Avengers overcame their lethargic start with an outstanding second half. They scored 20 unanswered points on 2 touchdowns by Lucas Kita and another by Vacek. Vacek's 2 point convert was the last scoring of the game as the Avengers prevailed 28-18.
