The Sarnia Girls Atom B team
had a pair of shut out games
this past weekend, one in a
win and another in a loss.
On Saturday the girls
traveled to Walpole Island
to meet the Chatham Outlaws.
Due to the Under 17 World
Hockey Challenge this was
the first time the Ladies
stepped on the ice in over a
week and the lack of
practice looked to be a
factor as the girls seemed a
step slow and suffered a 3 -
0 loss. This was the
first loss in regular league
action for the Girls.
On Sunday the girls bounced
back with a very balanced
team effort and shut out the
London Devilettes in London
by a score of 5 - 0.
Teagan Cox led the Lady
Sting with two goals in the
game. Assisting on the
first goal was Kensie
Lacroix and Paige Vidler was
the helper on the second.
Makayla Barclay added a
single from Lauren Jackson
and Kaitlyn Handy scored
with Ella Jackson picking up
the assist. The final goal,
scoring her first goal in
girls hockey was by Sarah
Gardner unassisted.
In net for the Lady Sting
was Peyton Burgess recording
the shutout.
The Atom B Ladies remain in
first place in the Lower
Lakes Female Hockey League
with a record of 5-1-2.
The Girls are back in action
on Sunday November 15th when
they host the Lakeshore
Lightning at 5:30 pm at the
RBC Centre.
