
The Lambton Jr. Sting Minor
Midgets AAA went 1-1 over
the weekend taking a 4-3 win
over the Sun County Panthers
in Essex Friday night then
returned home on Sunday and
suffered a 5 - 4 loss
against the Hamilton
Huskies.
Information from the Sun
County game was not
available at posting time.

In the game against Hamilton
on Sunday the Huskies took a
2 - 0 lead after the first
period. Mike Rawson
scored both goals the first
on a power play and the
second shorthanded.
In the second period the Jr.
Sting scored the first goal
to narrow the gap with
Cameron Rannie scoring
assisted by Fraser Wilson
and Jason VanBommel.
Less than a minute later
Hamilton regained the two
goal spread with Maliek
Powell scoring. With
2:22 remaining Hamilton
scored their fourth goal by
Marc Shannon. The Jr. Sting
battled back on a power play
and Jared Pageau fought his
way in and scored assisted
by Josh Barraclough and Nash
Nienhuis. Hamilton led
4 - 2 after two periods of
play.

In the final Hamilton
widened their lead to 5 - 3
scoring a power play goal
with Marc Shannon picking up
his second goal of the game.
With 6:23 remaining Cameron
Rannie added his second of
the night assisted by Ben
Schoch then less than a
minute later Eric Cardinal
narrowed the gap by one with
Barraclough earning an
assist on the play.
The Jr. Sting pulled their
goalie in the final minute
but were unable to score.
Chaska Thiel was in net for
the Jr. Sting, Justin
Vertesi earned the win for
Hamilton. (total shots
on goals were not available)

The Jr Sting are now 2-14-2
for the season and are back
in action next weekend when
they travel to Brantford to
compete at the Dale Parker
Memorial RBC Cup.
