'05 Bluewater Sharks Gain Silver Medal in Detroit

The Bluewater Sharks ’05 Hockey Team travelled to Detroit and participated in the Hockey Fights Cancer Tournament.  The Sharks came within one goal of the Championship with a tough 2 -1 loss in the Championship game versus Detroit Honeybaked.  Caiden Smit was outstanding in net, giving the Sharks an opportunity to win the game.  Scoring for Bluewater was Jaxon Priddle with the assist going to Adam Osler.  Smit was named hardest worker of the game.

 

The Sharks went 5 wins and 0 losses as they cruised though round robin and quarter final play before edging out a 3-2 semifinal win to advance to the finals.

 

Ben Sottosanti scored the winning goal vs Extra Mile Hockey in an exciting 3-2 victory.  Also scoring for the Sharks were Ryan Pageau and Jaxon Priddle.  Assists went to Lucas Gaspari with two, Garrett Pearce, Aaron Shanks and Luke Doan.  Hardest workers went to netminder Carter La Rocque and Ben Sottosanti.

 

Quarter final game saw the Sharks over power the ’06 Detroit Little Caesar team by a score of 9 – 1.  Ryan Pageau and Jaxon Priddle led the attack with two goals each.  Arron Shanks, Adam Osler, Nolan Mumford and Aaron Highfield chipped in with singles.  Assist went to Gaspari and Shanks with two, Highfield, Osler, Ryan Vidler, Landon Buckingham, Doan, Mumford, Ryan Cossa, Garret Pearce, Pageau and Luke Doan.  Hardest workers of the game went to Pageau and Buckingham.

 

Game 1 of round robin play had the Sharks defeating Canton Victory Honda by a score of 5 – 1.  Cater La Rocque was strong in net with the win.  Scoring for the Sharks were Adam Osler with two, Priddle, Evan Morningstar, and Garrett Pearce.  Assists went to Highfield, Cossa, Doan, Pageau, Shanks, Bo Doxtator and Priddle.  Hardest workers went to La Rocque and Arron Shanks.

 

Game 2 was a lopsided 23 – 0 victory over the Michigan Jags.  Scoring for the Sharks were Priddle x4, Pageau x 3, Pearce x 3, Shanks x 3, Osler x 3, Vidler x 2, Doan, Cossa, Mumford and Morningstar.  Smit earned the shutout in between the pipes.

 

Game 3 had the Sharks skating to a 7 – 0 victory over the Redford Kings.  Scoring for the Sharks was Priddle x 2, Highfield, Buckingham, Morningstar, Pearce and Shanks.  Assists went to Pageau x 2, Priddle x 2, Shanks, Pearce, Pearce, Doan, Gaspari, Cossa, Mumford, Doxtator and Osler.  La Rocque earned the Shutout in net.  Hardest worker of the game went to Priddle, Vidler and Doxtator.

 

The Sharks next action is in the home Bluewater Sharks Tournament at the RBC Centre on May 30th.
