
On Sunday the Sarnia
Braves Senior Men's traveled to Windsor Cullen
Field for a double header against the Athletics
in Can-Am League Action.
In game one the
Braves were edged out 4 - 3.
Windsor took a 3 run
lead in the second inning and added a single in
the third. Sarnia first run came in 6th
inning and went on and added 2 in the 8th.
Dom Bucci got the
start for Sarnia going 6 innings allowing 4
runs, 3 hits, 4 walks and striking out 4.
Batters Mike Damchik had a 2 run homerun and a
single. McKenzie Maxwell, Justin Randall
and Jim Seguin each had singles.
In the second game
Sarnia came out on top with a 8 - 7 final.
Windsor took an
early lead after scoring 2 runs in the first and
4 in the second innings and went on and added 1
in the seventh. Sarnia clawed their way up
by adding 2 runs in the third, 1 in the sixth
and in the 8th tied the game batting in 4 runs.
The game went into extra innings and in the 11th
Sarnia scored 1 run and held on to take the win.
On the plate for
Sarnia were Anthony Shepherd who pitched 3 1/3
innings allowing 6 runs, 7 Hits, 2 Walks and 3
strikeouts. Jim Seguin pitched 1 2/3
innings allowing 1 hit, 1 walk and striking out
2. Mike Damchuck pitched for 4 innings
allowing 1 run, 2 hits and striking out 5.
Windsor had a total
of 10 hits and 2 errors, Sarnia totalled 13 hits
and 1 error.
At bat McKenzie
Maxwell had 2 singles and a double. Keegan
Brandon batted 3 singles, Justin Randal had a
double and single, James Grant and Alex
McLean got to first twice and Dan Mott once.
The Braves are now 2
- 3 in Can Am League play.
