Point Edward Jr B Pacers Lost in First Period

"It's frustrating when you keep relying on yourself to pull out of holes." Head Coach Jim Bell "The guys got to play 60 minutes, 12 - 11 loss it's tough, we are making the stuff we want to do, we just can't continually climb out of holes."

The Point Edward Jr. B Pacers were down 5 - 1 after the first period but fought back in the final two to come within one at games end against the London Blue Devils.

"We are a veteran team, let's hold it together."  Bell said to the team after the first period "We can dig ourselves out of this and they came out on fire in the second period."

In the second period the Pacers won the period 5 - 2 and in the third each side scored 5 goals apeice.

Dan Charlton led the Pacers with 8 points for the night after scoring 4 goals and assisting on 4.  Kevin Conroy totalled 5 with 2 goals and 3 assists.  Connor Smith scored 1 and assisted on 3.  Cory Burr scored twice with 1 assist.  Brandan Burr and Liam Wright had 1 goal and an assist.  Single points with assists also went to Alex Mayhead, Mitch Burton, Tyler Smith and Kevin Durco.

Defensively the coaches agreed that this was one of the best defensive games played.

The Pacers outshot the Devils 58 - 37. Goalie Ian Ferguson made 25 saves for the Pacers and Zach Grace made 47 saves for the Devils.

The Pacers are back in action this Saturday May 17 when they host the Niagara Thunderhawks.  Game time 7:00 pm at the Point Edward Arena.

"All I ask is that they play 60 minutes, it we play 60 minutes and we stay 5 on 5 with everybody we are going to be fine.  All they need to do is play focus for 60 minutes." Bell said
