Huron Lakers Atom Girls Earn Bronze at Provincials

The Huron Lakers Atom Girls Basketball team won bronze at their provincials. The girls went into the provincials ranked 7th out of 8 teams.

Their first game brought them up against the 4th ranked Brantford Briers. The Lakers had a great game and won the game 24-22. Their next game and victory was a hard fought battle against Hamilton's Blessed Sacrament. The Lakers won 22-19 to earn a spot in the semi finals. The Lakers went up the #1 seeded St. Catharines Rebels. The Lakers fought hard but could not overcome the Rebels, losing to the eventual Gold medal winners 23-18.

In the Bronze medal game the Lakers took on the number #2 seed, Caledon Cougars. The game was very close in the first half but the Lakers pulled away in the third quarter and came out with a 27-16 win to finish their season off with a Bronze medal.
