Legionnaires Drop Second Playoff Loss

In London, the Sarnia Legionnaires took a 6 - 3 loss in game 2 of the Greater Ontario Jr Hockey league playoff series against the London Nationals Saturday night.
After the first period both teams were tied with 1 apiece. Mike Whaley scored a short handed goal for London at 12:38 then late in the period Ryan Vendramin scored a power play goal for the Legionnaires.
In the second period London scored three unanswered goals by Ryan Wells, Chris Maton and power play goal by Derek Todosichuk.
Third period saw both teams score twice. Sarnia scored the first by Jay Clarke on the power play then London scored two back to back the first by Matt Wildman and second on the power play by Nik Passero. The final goal of the game was scored on the power play by Josh Kestner.
Sarnia took a total of 34 minutes in penalties on 13 infractions. London tallied 38 minutes on 11 infractions. The Legionnaires scored three power play goals on six opportunities, London scored two on nine.
Hunter Johnson suffered the loss in net for the Legionnaires after making 32 saves on 38 shots. Jacob Riley earned the win for London making 28 saves on 31 shots.
The Legionnaires now down 2 games in the best of seven series return to action tonight (Sun Mar 2) at the Sarnia Arena beginning at 7:10 pm.
