On Saturday the Corunna Giants hosted Walker Homesites in a doubleheader in Midget Sun Parlour Baseball league games.
In the first game the Giants suffered an 8 - 1 loss,
Jeremy Devereaux went 5 2/3 innings on the mound for Corunna and allowed 9 hits and 7 runs walked 1 and struck out 9. Brett Farr pitched for 1.1/3 innings and allowed 1 hit, 3 runs, walked 3 and struck out 3.
Farr scored the lone run in the sixth inning after batting a double and later scoring. Mark McLachlin batted a single and Nolan Nicholson doubled.
In the second game of the day the Giants were edged out and took a 5 - 4 loss.
Brett Farr got the start on the mound and went 3 1/3 allowing 3 hits and striking out 5. Keenan Smith took over in the 4th and walked 6, struck out 3 and allowed 5 runs. Jordan Pavey came in to close and allowed 1 walk.
At bat Devin Butler doubled and earned 1 RBI walked once and scored 2 runs. Jake Rompf was walked 3 times and scored 2 runs. Kyle Smith got a single and double and Lauchie MacDonald earned a RBI.
The Giants are back in action on Sunday (June 22) for another doubleheader when they travel to Essex against the Majors.
