After a stumble out of the gates with an 8-4 loss versus a seasoned Alvinston 1 squad on May 24th, the Rookie Selects earned a big 9-8 win versus the Corunna team on May 27th.
This past weekend, the Team played a Double Header against a tough Alvinston 2 team. In the first game, an exhibition game, the team played a great game, but came up on the short end of 7-4 loss. Alvinston 2 scored all 7 runs in the 3rd inning. Parker Kelly, even after having a tooth knocked out in pregame, led the squad with a 3-3 effort at the plate, and with stellar defense at first base.
In the second game of the day, the Sarnia Rookie Selects came away with a hard fought come from behind 6-5 win. The team was lead by Jason Lajeunesse Jr's Big Bat going 2-2 with a Triple, a double, 3 RBIs and a big catch at 1st base. Tyler Dagg played perfect defense at shortstop and left-center field. Maddux Bois hit a huge Double to tie the game in the bottom of the last inning, Jack Mawer with a clutch 2 out single to load the bases for Parker Kelly, who came up big with a single and game winning RBI!
The teams next game action is Tuesday June 9th at Wyoming 1 and Tuesday June 17th at Camlachie.
