Kristy Hodgins scored three times for the Sarnia Spirit U16 as they downed Guelph 5-2 in WOYSL league action.
Daphne Hibma and Katie Barwitzki also scored for the Spirit. Sarnia only had twelve players due to a rash of injuries and then lost Lauren Shaw early in the second half.
The game was played at the University of Guelph soccer complex in a rain soaked game on artificial turf that caused control problems for both teams.
Cassidy Edlington, the Spirit's keeper, made numerous difficult saves to help the team win the contest.
The Spirit are away this Wednesday @ the Portuguese Club in London versus the AC Dragons @ 6.30 pm.
