Corunna Midgets Late Comeback in the 7th Not Enough

The Corunna Giants Midget 18U Baseball team suffered a 4 - 2 loss to the host Sarnia Braves at Blackwell Park in Western Counties Baseball League action.

The Giants were trailing 4 - 0 heading into the 7th as Sarnia scored 1 run in the first inning and added 3 more in the bottom of the third.

The Giants scored two runs in the top of the 7th with Alex Machan double to center field then later advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch.  Keenen Smith RBI singled to left field brought Machan home. Smith made his way around the bases and scored the Giants 2nd run on a wild pitch.

Giants pitcher Kyle Smith pitched 5 innings, struck out 5, walked 1 and allowed 4 runs.  Keenan Smith came in to close allowed no hits, walked 1 and struck out 2 with no runs.

The Giants are even with 3 wins and 3 losses so far this season.  Next up Corunna will host Chatham from the Sun Parlour League on Monday June 9 at Courtright Park.  First pitch is set for 7:00pm.
