Local Tennis Players Compete in London

The 2014 Little Caesars Junior Tennis Tour wrapped up at the University of Western Ontario Tennis Centre in London on July 27. Five (5) Sarnia-Lambton players participated in the final stop with Mattias Mueller and Andrew Davies maintaining  their strong performances from the earlier Tour stops in Amhertsburg, Chatham and Sarnia by capturing the 14-and-under and 18-and-under boys' titles, respectively. Mueller won 8-3 over Logan Butler of Chatham and Davies, 8-6 over Matt Gibson of London in the finals.

Marissa Mueller,  competing in her first Little Caesars Tour stop of the season, captured the girls' 14-and-under event with an 8-5 win over Emma Rendell of London.

 Other Sarnia-Lambton participants who turned in solid performances but bowed out in earlier rounds were Tristan and Chandler Haagsma (boys' 14s).  

 With 3 titles and one finalist result each on the 2014 Tour, Mueller and Davies  were the overall 14-and-under and 18-and-under boys' Tour champions, respectively.  Other overall division champions were Ava Skuse (girls' 18s) and Madeleine Alexander (girls' 14s), both of London.
