Corunna Giants Midgets were in action on Sunday in a double header against the Lasalle Minors in Sun Parlour Baseball league action.

In the first game both sides were even with a final score of 1 - 1.

Both runs were scored in the fifth inning.  Corunna's run came in on a RBI hit by Jake Rompf. Corunna had just 3 hits in the game with Rompf hitting a total of 2 and Colton Osborne a single.

Jeremy Deveraux went the distance on the mound for 7 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and striking out 5.

In the second game of the day Corunna was trailing 5 - 2 heading into the seventh and came up short to take a 6 - 5 loss against Lasalle Minor Midgets.

Corunna outhit Lasalle 6 - 3.  Hitting for Corunna was Derek Williams with 2 and singles by Jordan Pavey, Nolan Nicholson, Kyle Smith and Joe Stock.

Jordan Pavey and Keenan Smith shared duties on the mound with Pavey taking the loss allowing 2 hits and 1 run and striking out 3.  Smith allowed 3 hits, walked 4, allowed 5 runs and struck out 4.

Corunna had a total of 8 errors, Lasalle had 3.

Corunna is back in action this week on Wednesday July 30 in Dresden.  Next home game is on Monday Aug 4th at Courtright Park with the first pitch set for 7:00pm.
