The Sarnia FC U12 Premier team had great success over the weekend participating in the Club's fourth annual Water's Edge Classic Soccer tournament. The boys made their Club proud and wore the Sarnia jerseys with pride enroute to 4 consecutive wins facing some strong competition.
Their first test of the tournament would be Toronto's Kleinburg Lions who play in the York region. They would be a strong force but Sarnia would end the match with a 5 - 4 win.
Sarnia FC would face Windsor Fury for Saturday's second game of the day. Windsor would come out strong and challenge Sarnia in the first half however the Red machine would only be warming up as they would gain momentum and finish strong. Final Score: Sarnia FC 4 - Windsor Fury 1
On Sunday, Sarnia would once again be scheduled to play 2 games. The Guelph Royals would be Sarnia's first opponents. Although both teams started pretty sluggishly it would pick-up pace as the game drew on. Sarnia would earn the shutout with a 3 - 0 victory.
Sarnia FC's final game would pit themselves against the LaSalle Stompers. The Lambton County boys would save their best performance for last dazzling the crowd with their surgent skill. The level of teamwork would make any coach or parent proud as they dominated the field of play. Sarnia FC U12 Premier team would close out the tournament undefeated with a second shutout win. Sarnia FC 5 - LaSalle Stompers 0.
