monday july 20, 2014

At home on Sunday evening the Sarnia Beavers Sr. B Lacrosse team season ended after Six Nations swept the series taking a 14 - 7 win in game two of the series.  In game one the Beavers fell 16 - 7 in Six Nations.

It's very disappointing because I thought we were a lot better character wise." Head Coach Nick Trudeau said.

Six Nations took a 7 - 1 lead after the first period and went up 12 - 2 after the second.  In the third the Beavers won the period 5 - 2 but time ran out giving Six Nations the series.

Jim Purves led the Bearvers with 3 points in the game with 1 goal, 2 assist.  Other goal scorers included Matt Menzies, Kyle Childerhose, Lance Ross, Winter Dockstator, Colin McDowall and Ryan MacGregor.

Colin McDowall led the team in points with a record of 45 goals, 18 assists for a total of 63 points.

Greg Kristic got the start but was replaced by Tye Bellanger late in the first. Bellanger ended the regular season with a record of 3 - 7.

The Beavers ended their regular season with a record of 4 - 12.   "I think we were a lot better than our record shows." Trudeau said "We lost 5 one goal games and if we would have won at least 3 of those we would put us in 4th and in an easier first round.  I think this team (Six Nations) is going to take it all the way."
