Sarnia FC U12 Premier Team Remain Unbeaten
thursday july 10, 2014

The Sarnia FC U12 Boys Premier team travelled to London to face AEK in league action. On a beautiful evening for soccer they would play on the perfect Hellenic Community Centre pitch. The boys were undefeated and were hoping to keep their string intact.

From the opening KO, the boys from Lambton would dominate possession and control all the play. They continuously pinned AEK deep in their end creating numerous scoring opportunities!  Their strong effort and determination would be finally rewarded as mid-fielder James Brown would hammer home the loose rebound.  AEK would fight back and tie the game on a clean breakaway to close out the half.

In the second half, Sarnia FC would continue their dominant role and create additional scoring chances. The AEK keeper was kept busy the entire game and stood tall. In the final ten minutes of action Sarnia would break out of their end and find themselves on a 2 v 1 situation. An unselfish James Brown would make the beautiful pass to a wide open Dominic Krasinkiewicz who would fire the ball into the open net. AEK would once again tie the game on a free kick and that's how it would end.

Final Score:  Sarnia FC   2   -   AEK   2

SARNIA FC   vs.  LONDON ATHLETIC SPARTANS\

On Tuesday, July 8th Sarnia FC would once again travel to London to face the Spartans at North London Fields. Typically, Sarnia seems to have a slow start and this game would be no exception. The London Athletic Spartans would start the game with high intensity and set Sarnia back on their heels.  London would score the first goal of the game from a beautiful shot outside the box.  After the early shock, Sarnia would re-group and finally find their legs. The tides would soon turn with Sarnia beginning to dominate play. At the 20 minute mark, Sarnia FC striker Mateo Troiani would tie the game with the perfect placement of a left footed shot. The half would close out 1-1.

Sarnia would continue to pressure from the onset of the opening second half whistle. Lots of opportunities, however, numerous missed chances on net.  Not discouraged, the Lambton County boys would not give up and finally their persistence would be rewarded. From a corner kick, Troiani sent the perfect pass to a wide open Cameron Hoek.  The defender would calmly control the ball and fire a laser into the left corner of the Spartan net.  From that point on the game would open up and generate lots of great action.  Sarnia keeper, Andrew Harron would absolutely rob a London striker from a goal as he made the diving save. Unfortunately, the rebound would find its way beyond his reach to level the game at twos.  The final whistle would sound closing out the game in a tie.

Final Score:  Sarnia FC   2   -   London Athletic Spartans  2

The undefeated string would continue for Sarnia FC with two hard fought battles.  Coaches were 'very' proud of the effort from the boys!  Their next action will be our local tournament 'The Water's Edge Classic" being held July 18 - 20.  See you there!
