November 9, 2013: The fourth week of Atom House League hockey saw four entertaining contests. Grey hosted Green, Red was home to White, Orange played host to Blue, and lastly Yellow hosted Black.

First to take to the ice were Grey and Green. Grey’s Jack Birbeck with a marker only four minutes into the first put his team up 1-0. Following him was Nolan Jennings who put his Grey team up 2-0 just before Birbeck’s second of the period from Tony Vario. Grey lead 3-0 going into the second where Green’s Aiden Matuzic put home the Joe McNeil pass to make it 3-1. In the third the teams traded goals. McNiel was on the other side of the score sheet when he made it 3-2 and Grey was within reach. But minutes later Eli Erickson snuffed out the late push by Green and won it for Grey. The final in tis one was 4-2.

The second time slot belonged to Red and White. It took half a period of scoreless play before Matthew Stojcevski just couldn’t stand the deadlock anymore and buried the Kyle Moore pass into the back of the Red net to put White up 1-0. The score stayed exactly that way until five minutes into the second period when Xander Stafford and Kalleigh Vantroost teamed up to tie the game and made it 1-1. The third period saw less than a minute expire before once again Stojcevski got fed up with the tie and put away his second of the contest and the game winner. 2-1 for White in this one.

Third on the card was Orange and Blue. In the first period, Owen Pereira and Zach Woods tic-tac-toed the puck into the net to make it 1-0 for Blue. But with only 0:11 on the clock, Anthony Bullock scored for Orange off the feed from Jazen Wark and knotted it up for his team. In the second, Owen Dufor put Blue back on top with an early goal and Chris Latosinsky capitalized on the pass from Samuel Duke and scored the 3-1 goal for Blue. But Liam Kershaw brought his Orange team back within one. Seconds later Ewan Morrison scored his first of the game and tied it up. The third period saw more action early as Latosinsky and Duke teamed up again to put their Blue team on top again. Ewan Morrison answered quickly for Orange though, and tied it up at 4 a side. Owen Dufor pushed his team back on top with his second just moments later however, and on his next shift out completed his hat trick. Morrison finished a hat trick of his own though and the game was within a goal for Orange again. This didn’t last long however, because Chris Latosinsky got in on the hat trick trend and got his third of the game adding the insurance goal late to ice the game for Blue.

The final game of the morning had Yellow and Black facing off. In the first, Chris Blair opened the scoring for Black with Tyler Glavin on the assist. This seemed to spark Yellow however, and an offensive explosion ensued. Adam Walker netted himself a natural hat trick. Teammate Declan Ritchie put home a hat trick of his own spread out between goals from Cody Hillman and Jack Hogan. The ice was certainly tilted for Yellow and they kept the pedal down to put home 8 goals and win handedly. And after all of that, the teams figured it was time to take a week off, concluding our fourth week of Atom House League hockey.
