Sarnia Spirit U16 Loses in Shootout at Scrooge Tournament

The Sarnia Spirit U16 Girls Team competed in the U17 Division of the Scrooge Soccer Tournament played at the BMO Centre in London.

In game one, Sarnia defeated Woodstock 1-0 on a goal by Claire Vandeneynde.  Cassy Edlington with the shutout. Sarnia then defeated Oakridge Outlaws 3-0 with goals from Kristy Hodgins, Kate Brady, and Cassie Forte. In game three, Sarnia tied Middlesex 1-1. Chloe Kennedy scored for the Spirit. In game four, the Spirit defeated London Thunder 2-1 as Cassie Forte and Kristy Hodgins scored the goals.

In the Spirit's final game, Sarnia tied North London Galaxy 1-1 only to lose in a shootout 4-3. Chloe Kennedy scored in regulation time. Shootout scorers included Emma Colman, Daphne Hibma, and Claire Vandeneynde.

The Sarnia Spirit U16 are training indoors at LCCVI High School for the outdoor season in which they will play in the WOYSL Regional League.
