Lambton AAA Major Midgets Take 2

The Major Midgets remain in
third spot in the Alliance
Hockey League standings race
with two wins over the weekend.
In the first game on Saturday
Lambton traveled to Waterloo to
face the Wolves and came home
with a 4 - 2 win.
Both sides shared power play
goals in the first period.
Collin Osler scored first for
Lambton with Sean Ginnell
assisting. Dylan Lebold
scored for Waterloo.
In the second Lambton went up 4
- 2 with Alec Dekoning from Jack
Mott scoring at 5:13. Dillon
Saunders added two goals the
first at 11:40 from Dekoning and
Marco Mini and the second at
16:48 with Mini and Osler
assisting.
Lebold scored the final goal for
Waterloo at 17:29 as both sides
went scoreless in the third.
Lambton outshot Waterloo 50 -
30. Travis Moore earned
the win in net for Lambton.
Back at home on Sunday with a
short bench of 13 skaters and 2
goalies the Major Midgets came
up with a big win shutting out
Kitchener 4 - 0. Kitchener
is in 4th spot in the standings
race and heading into this game
were 2 points behind Lambton.
Lambton scored two goals in the
firsts and added singles in the
second and third period.
Dillon Saunders led the Jr.
Sting by earning points on all
four goals scoring twice and
earning two assists. Alec
Dekoning earned 3 points with a
goal and 2 assists. Marco
Mini scored one goal and earned
an assist for 2 points.
Lambton outshot Kitchener 35 -
22. Netminder Shayne
Battler earned his first shut
out of the season.
Both sides went scoreless on
power play opportunities.
Lambton had four chances,
Kitchener had two.
The Major Midgets are 17-4-1-0
for 35 points and they will take
on the top team the Windsor Jr.
Spitfires on Sunday December
28th at the RBC Centre
beginning at 11:00 am.
