Lambton AAA Minor Midgets Weekend Highlights

The Lambton AAA
Minor Midgets were in Kitchener
on Saturday and were shut out 8
- 0 by the Jr. Rangers.
Kitchener scored 1 goal in the
first 2 in the second and 5 in
the third. Half of the
goals were scored on power
plays. Lambton was
scoreless on five power play
chances, Kitchener scored 4
goals on six power play
opportunities.
Kitchener outshot
the Jr. Sting 41 - 8.
Chaska Thiel suffered the loss
turning away 31 of 38 shots
fired at him, Kyle Brinacombe
came in late made 2 saves on 3
shots.
On Sunday at home
the Jr. Sting hosted the
Branford 99ers and the two teams
skated to a 1 - 1 tie.
Brantford lit up the scoreboard
first with 33 seconds remaining
in the first period and
Lambton's lone goal came in the
second at 10:45 on a power play
with Fraser Wilson from Nash
Nienhuis scoring.
Lambton went one
for seven on power play
opportunities, Brantford went
zero on three chances.
Lambton outshot Brantford 33 -
25. Thiel returned to the
net made 24 saves.
The Jr. Sting
record stands at 6-16-5 and the
team is in 8th place in the
Alliance Hockey League.
The Jr. Sting
will have a few days off before
Christmas before heading to
Toronto to compete in the
Toronto Marlboro International
Tournament starting on boxing
day.
