Petrolia Squires Take Solid Win over Clinton

One down one to
go as the Petrolia Squires take
a solid 8 - 2 win over the
Clinton Radars in their first of
two games this weekend before
the Christmas Break in WOAA
Senior AA hockey league action.
Clinton took a 1
- 0 lead in the first period
after Josh Cornelissen scored a
power play goal late in the
period.
The Squires took
the lead after scoring 3
unanswered goals then in the
third blasted the lead scoring 5
goals. Clinton was able to
put one in the net in the third
on a goal scored by Alex Avery.
Brad Burton, Zac
Macnaught and Nathan Ansell each
scored 2 goals apiece in the win
and Shawn Waldie and Breydan
Belan added to the total with
singles.
Kraig Wright
earned 3 points in the game
assisting on goals and Brad
Burton and Shawn Waldie also
tallied 3 points with Burton
scoring the 2 goals and
assisting on 1 and Waldie
scoring 1 and assisting on 2.
Chris Houle faced
36 shots making 33 saves, Tom
Lee stopped 29 of 35.
The Squires are
back in action tonight
(Saturday) for their second game
of the weekend heading to
Tillsonburg. These two
teams are jockeying for first
place as the Squires leads with
23 points (11-4-0-1) and
Tillsonburg with 22 points and
one game back (10-3-0-2).
