The Lambton Minor Atom
Jr. Sting AAA team had a
full weekend with 3
games played over the
weekend.
On Friday night the Jr.
Sting traveled to London
and defeated the Jr.
Knights 5 - 3.
“Great win for the boys
on the road." Head
Coach Corey Pageau
said. "We competed hard
for a full 3 periods.”
Aaron Shanks scored 3
goals in the win with
singles by Garrett
Pearce, Cameron McCarthy
and Jaxon Priddle.
Helpers on the goals
were Isaac Oliphant with
2 assists, Adam
Maitland, Lucas Gaspari,
Cameron McCarthy, Jaxon
Priddle and Ryan Vidler
each added one.
Carter LaRocque earned
the win in net.
Hardest worker of the
game awards went to Adam
Maitland, Garrett Pearce
and Carter La Rocque.
Another road game on
Saturday sent the Jr.
Sting to Windsor where
they were edged out by
the Jr. Spitfires and
took a 2 - 1 loss.
“Disappointing result
after a great road win
the night before,"
Pageau said "Effort
wasn’t there for the
entire game and it
resulted in a loss to a
team that is below us in
the standings.”
Jaxon Priddle scored the
lone goal for the Jr.
Sting assisted by Nolan
Mumford.
Bo Doxtator, Ryan Vidler
and Isaac Oliphant were
named the Hardest
Workers in the game.
In their final and third
game of the weekend the
Jr. Sting hosted Elgin
Middlesex Chiefs with
the game played in
Thedford. The Chiefs
defeated the Jr. Sting
with a solid 9 - 2
score.
“The team played like it
was their 3rd
game of the weekend,"
said Pageau "We started
the 1st
period strong, but just
went south in the 2nd
and 3rd
periods.
Tanner Winegard and Adam
Maitland scored Lambton
with Ryan Pageau and
Ryan Vidler assisting.
Hardest Worker award
went to Adam Osler and
Ryan Pageau.
"Elgin
is a hard working team
and we just didn't match
their intensity
level. Weekend had
started well with a big
win, but ended on a sour
note.”
