The Sarnia Lady Sting Atom B
brought home Gold from the
Panthers on the Prowl
Tournament in St. Thomas.
On Friday playing one game
the Lady Sting defeated
North Halton Twisters 2 – 1.
Scoring in the win were
Teagan Cox from Paige Vidler
and Goaltender Peyton
Burgess. Robyn Storey
scored the second goal
assisted by Tessa Jackson
and Sarah Gardner.
Player of the game was
awarded to Kiara MacDonald.
On Saturday the Ladies
competed in two games and
came away with wins in both.
In the first game of the day
the Lady Sting took 4 – 1
over Caledon Coyotes.
Lauren Jackson led the Lady
Sting scoring all 4 goals.
Jackson scored 2 goals
unassisted and helpers on
the other two were Makayla
Barclay, Robyn Store and
Paige Vidler.
Player of the game was
awarded to Paige Vidler.
In the second game of the
day the Lady Sting were
leading 2 – 1 over the St.
Thomas Panthers and with
just over two minutes
remaining in the game the
Panthers pulled their goalie
for the extra attacker only
to be denied as Teagan Cox
assisted by Peyton Burgess
scored into the empty net to
give Sarnia the 3 – 1 win.
Cadence MacDonald from Abby
Armitage and Peyton Burgess
scored the first goal and
the second by Lauren Jackson
from Paige Vidler and Robyn
Story.
Player of the game was given
to Teagan Cox.
On Sunday in the semi final
game the Lady Sting took a
solid 5 – 0 win over
Caledon.
Sarnia scored 2 goals in the
first, 2 in the second and a
single in the third. Ella
Jackson scored two goals in
the win with Cadence
MacDonald assisting on her
first goal and the second
was unassisted. Robyn
Storey, Tessa Jackson and
Kaitlyn Handy each scored
singles in the win. Cadence
MacDonald assisted on two of
the goals to give her a game
total of 3 points. Kaitlyn
Handy and Sarah Gardner also
picked up assists on the
goals.
Player of the game was
awarded to Ella Jackson.
In the final game for the
Championship the Sarnia Lady
Sting defeated the host team
with a final score of 6 – 2.
In the first period the Lady
Sting scored 2 goals the
first by Lauren Jackson from
Robyn Storey and the second
by Heather McIntosh assisted
by Tessa Jackson.
In the second period Jackson
scored the first goal
unassisted. Robyn Storey
scored the second with
Heather McIntosh assisting
and the final goal of the
period went to Makayla
Barclay from Robyn Storey.
In the third period Lauren
Jackson scored the only goal
for the Sting with Storey
picking up her third assist
for a 4 point game.
Netminder Peyton Burgess had
an outstanding tournament
picking up 3 assists during
the weekend and going
undefeated that included one
shutout win.
The Atom B team returns to
regular league play next
weekend with two road games,
the first against the
Lakeshore Lightning on
Saturday and then on Sunday
a return visit to St. Thomas
against the Panthers.
