The Sarnia Spirit U16 team competed in a College Showcase Tournament of Champions in Ottawa this past weekend.
In game one, the Spirit defeated the Seaway Valley Blazers 3-1 on goals from Kristy Hodgins, Lauren Shaw, and Katie Barwitzki. The Spirit then lost to Ottawa South Academy 2-0. In their final game the Spirit lost to the Ottawa Fury Academy 2-1. Kelly Hodgins scored the Spirit goal. Ottawa South won the tournament with a 5-0 win versus Edmonton FC, Alberta.
The Spirit return to league action on Wednesday August 13th versus London AC Dragons @ 6.30 pm @ SGSC.
