Sombra native Alec DeKoning a member of the 2013-14 Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Midgets AAA was named to Team Alliance Roster that will compete in the 2014 OHL Gold Cup.

Surprisingly DeKoning slipped through the cracks in last weekends OHL Priority Seclection.  The forward was the top scorer at the 2013 Alliance Hockey Minor Midget AAA All-Star weekend held last December that showcased the top players in the Alliance.

During the showcase the teams played four games and DeKoning Ranked #1 with 8 points (6G, 2A).  During the regular league season after 32 games DeKoning scored 11G and 13A for 24 points in the playoffs after 6 games earned 2 points with a goal and assist.

Alec will compete in the OHL Gold cup  (Alliance roster) on May 8 - 11 in Kitchener. The games will be streamed live on Pointstreak  Team Alliance will play on Thursday May 8 at 6:00 pm against OMHA Black and on Friday May 9 two games the first against Team NOHA at 11:15 am and at 8:15 pm against Team GTHL Red. 

All games will be played at the Kitchener Auditorium.
