The Mooretown Flags Jr C Hockey team will be traveling to Dresden tonight for their season opener against the Dresden Kings. 

"Tomorrow [Friday] night is a big game on the road." Head Coach Jordan Pennesi said "It makes the guys less nervous playing their first game away."

The home opener is set for Saturday September 14 at the Moore Sports complex when the Flags host league rivals Wallaceburg Lakers. 

 "Wallaceburg is a hardworking never quit team. you always got to make sure you come ready to play or they will beat you.  Last year they beat us a few times so this year we want to make sure we are ready to play."

Both games begin at 7:30.

The Flags have completed their roster that include a few former Jr B players.

"We are getting some big pickups Chad Beauchamp, Brett Thompson, Sam Jasmin and Spencer Bronzi have all signed." Pennesi said  I'm really looking forward to getting those guys in the lineup. For the guys coming back they are looking forward to getting into a game too, some have only played one exhibition game so they are really eager to get into the game."
