The Sarnia Jr Sting Major Novice Tier 1 MD hockey team kicked their season off with a 6 – 1 win over the Petrolia Oilers in exhibition play at Clearwater Arena.

 Scoring for the Sting were Wil Vandenboom with two, Adam Osler, Adam Maitland Tanner Winegard and Ryan Pageau.  Picking up assists were Isaac Oliphant with two, Landon Buckingham, Quinn James, Wil Vandenboom, Aaron Shanks and Ryan Vidler.  Caiden Smit was strong between the pipes for the win.  Scoring for Petrolia was Reed Douglass from Jace McGrail.  Kent Gudz was solid in net for the Oilers.
