Craig Duininck Named Sting Captain
saturday September 7, 2013

Sarnia, On –  Sarnia Sting Head Coach Trevor Letowski announced this morning that overage defenceman Craig Duininck has been named Captain of the hockey club for the 2013-2014 season.

Letowski, a former Sting Captain himself commented on the choice to name Duininck Captain.

“Craig is the type of player and the type of person that we want to embody our program moving forward.  His work ethic and team first attitude set a great example for all of our players.  Craig is a leader on and off the ice and is very deserving of this honour.”

Duininck was originally acquired by the Sting early in the 2011-2012 season.

The St. Cloud, Minnesota native is honoured to be named Captain by the Coaching Staff.

“I have been fortunate enough to play with some great leaders both with the Sting and with the Spitfires.  I looked up to players like Ryan Ellis and Harry Young when I was a rookie in Windsor and then Nathan Chiarlitti with the Sting. I hope to provide some of that same level of leadership with our players here in Sarnia.”

The Sting will announce the Assistant Captains at a later date.
