Referees Give Back

monday october 14, 2013

The Bluewater Referees Association in conjunction with Lambton AAA Association and the Breast Cancer Society of Sarnia Lambton has designated Sunday October 20, 2013 as Breast Cancer Awareness day.

On this day, the referees, will be donating their game fees to the Breast Cancer Society of Sarnia Lambton.

The Signature event will be held at the Major Midget AAA at the RBC Centre on Sunday October 20th starting at 3:00 pm between the Lambton Jr Sting and the Windsor Jr Spitfires.

This event was inspired by local referee Matthew Murray who's Great Aunt was a victim to breast cancer.  Murray will be one of the referees officiating at the signature event.  Mark Colbran will also be officiating in support of his sister in law Lucy Colbran who is a breast cancer survivor. Lucy Colbran will be conducting a ceremonial puck drop along with Linesman Tim Jones’ wife Linda and other special guests.

The referees will be wearing pink and black striped shirts, pink laces and pink whistles in support of the local chapter of Breast Cancer as well as donating their officiating fees to the local chapter.
