Wallaceburg Lakers Continue to Slide Downhill

At home the Wallaceburg Lakers were edged out by Dresden with a final score of 4 - 3 in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey. 

The two teams shared back to back goals with Dresden scoring first at 8:33 on the power play goal by Jeremy Griffore.  Wallaceburg evened the score at 9:07 with Ryan Gruszka scorirng.  Late in the period Derek Daly regained the Jr Kings lead heading into the second.

 

In the second Wallaceburg scored the only goal with Ryan Gruszka scoring.  Dresden regained the lead with back to back goals both scored by Dillon Liberty at 2:57 and 13:44.  The Lakers continued to battle back and with just :04 seconds remaining Frankie White narrowed the gap, but time ran out and the Jr Kings took the win.

 

Dresden outshot the Lakers 63 - 31.  Ben Vankessel earned the win with 28 saves.  Joel Sowinski made 59 saves.

 

The Lakers are now 0 - 9 and will look for their first win of the season on Friday October 11 when they host the Alvinston Flyers at 7:30 pm.
