Sarnia Flag Football Association Weekend Results

tuesday october 8, 2013

It was a rainy day of games as the Sarnia Flag Football Association hosted 3 regular season games on Sunday October 06 at Lansdowne Park in Sarnia.  In game one at 11:00 am., the Bluewater Power Titans made short work of the Jack Doyle’s Hitmen easily dispatching them by a final score of 46 to 25.  The second game at 11:00 was to feature the Power Champs against the Lambton Metal Service Rampage however the Rampage, who are rebuilding their team this season, could not field a squad to face the Power Champs and forfeited the match.

In the single game at 1:00, the ANWIS Heat took on the Phoenix.  At half-time and on the backs of the acrobatic antics of the Heat receivers Keyshawn Jordan and Josh Yurchuk, the Heat looked to run away with the victory.  However, the Phoenix were not done and after some changes in the Quarterback role with rookie Ryan Fartham replacing veteran QB Andy MacDonald, the Phoenix began mounting a comeback.  However, it would be too little-too late as the Heat held on to win with a final score of 40 to 33.

With these games, the SFFA has reached the mid-way point in their 2013 season.  Sitting each with records of 4 wins and 1 loss apiece, the Power Champs are currently first followed by the Bluewater Power Titans at 2nd and ANWIS Heat in 3rd.  At 4th with a record of 2 wins/3 losses (1 forfeit)  are the Jack Doyle’s Hitmen.  Fifth spot with a record of 1 win/4 losses (1 forfeit) are the Lambton Metal Service Rampage while holding last spot with an 0-6 record are the Phoenix.

There will be no games in the SFFA on the October 13, Thanksgiving weekend but the regular season will resume with 3 games on October 20.  October 20 games will feature the Bluewater Power Titans vs. the ANWIS Heat and the Lambton Metal Service Rampage vs. Jack Doyle’s Hitmen; both at 11:00 am with the lone game at 1:00 will showcase the Power Champs against the Phoenix.
