Wallaceburg Lakers Downed Blenheim

After nailing the number one team in the league last week with a 5 - 3 win over Essex 73's (19-2-1-1), the last place Lakers scored another five point game to down fourth place Blenheim Blades (11-7-1-1) 5 - 2 Wednesday night in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey League action.
The Lakers started things off early in the first scoring at 2:30 with Frank Saputo scoring with Jacob Theoret and Mike Brown assisting. Blenheim tied the game at 9:07. Derek Muzzatti from Dylan Muzzatti scored the first goal for Blenheim. Laker Frank Saputo scored his second of the night to regained the lead just :49 seconds later with Trevor Waller assisting. And late in the period at 18:05 Wallaceburg widen the lead to 3 - 1 heading into the second. Ryan Gruszka from Evan Weidenbach scored what later turned out to be the game winner.
In the second period Blenheim's Justin Rossignol scored the only goal in the period assisted by Cam Aitken and Pete Mosher. The Lakers remained in the lead heading into the third where they scored two goals to widen the lead and never looked back. The same line of Ryan Gruszka and Evan Weidenbach scored their second point of the night and Scott Lubbers with help from netminder Joel Sowinski picking up the assist.
Sowinski earned the win turning away 30 of 32 shots. Justin Pratt and Eric Stewardson took the loss in net for Blenheim with a combined total of 15 saves.
The Lakers record of 3 - 20 - 0 are on a two game win streak look to keep the streak alive when they return to action on Dec 5 for a rematch with Essex. Game is being played at Walpole Arena with a 7:30 puck drop.
