Six Lambton AAA Minor Midget Players Selected to Alliance All-Star Weekend

Six members from the Lambton AAA Minor Midget have been selected to attend the 2013 Alliance All Star Weekend to be held December 7 - 8. The event is co-hosted by the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs Hockey Association and will be held at the Komoka Wellness and Recreation Centre.
Netminder Kaden Fulcher, forwards Brock Perry, Alec Dekoning and Curtis Helps along with Defencemen Franko Sproviero and Eric Marsh will traveling to Komoko for the event.
"I think it's great for the individuals who have been asked to participate in such a big venue." said Jeff Perry Head Coach of the Lambton Minor Midget AAA team "This is just the start of the process for them, I'm very confident that they will represent the Lambton Jr. Sting organization quite well."
Last year Brendan Trottier was the lone Lambton Player invited and was selected in 11th round (209th overall) by the Sarnia Sting in 2013 OHL Priority Draft. Currently Trottier is with the Lambton Shore Predators Jr. B.
The All-Star weekend is another means to scout for potential Team Alliance U16 players.
The Team ALLIANCE U16 will participate in the 2014 OHL Gold Cup that will be held in Kitchener from May 9 - 12, 2014. The 8-team tournament being held to showcase Ontario's top U16 talent and to provide an opportunity for Hockey Canada to scout potential players for Canada's three teams that will compete in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
Players not selected to play in the All-Star Game in December will remain eligible for Team ALLIANCE U16. Player evaluation will be ongoing to the end of the regular season and throughout the playoffs.
"One thing we stated all along and will continue we are a good team by committee". Perry said "Certainly not to take away from the six that got invited but their remaining teammates had a large part in it. If they continue to work hard good things can happen as well."
Four All Star Teams will be formed with 9 forwards, 5 defence and two goalies on each team. Each team will play three round robin games and the standings will seed the teams for the final game on Sunday. (1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th) Teams will be coached by current Minor Midget Coaches and Guest Coaches to be announced.
