Legionnaires Win over St. Marys

Josh Kestner had his hand in all goals scored by Legionnaires with 2 goals and 2 assists.
After a sloppy 9-7 loss against London Thursday the Legionnaires traveled to St. Mary's on Friday and came home with a close 4 - 3 win against the Greater Ontario Jr B Western Conference last place Lincolns.
After a scoreless first period the Legionnaires scored 3 unanswered goals in the second to take the lead. Jay Clarke scored two of the goals the first on a power play assisted by Josh Kestner and Nathan Mater. The second goal shorthanded by Clarke with Kestner earning the assist. The final goal Kestner earned his third point of the night scoring unassisted.
In the third St. Marys battled back scoring three goals in the period, the first early in the period by Colin Nancekivell. Before the Lincolns added their final two, Kestner added his fourth point of the night scoring to give the Legionnaires the 4 - 1 lead. Clarke and Mater earned the assist. St. Marys continue to fight and went on and added two goals first by Nathan Smith and the final goal a power play goal by Rai Diloreto with 1:16 remaining.
Braden Palocz earned the win made 24 saves on 27 shots. Connor Hughes was pelted by Sarnia made 37 saves on 41 shots.
The Legionnaires moved up in the standings and now sit in 4th spot with 12-10 record for a total of 24 points. Next up the Legionnaires has a rematch with London on Wednesday November 20 night in London before returning home the next night to face St. Thomas.
