Sarnia, On – Director of Hockey Operations Bill Abercrombie announced on Wednesday that the hockey club has traded overage defenceman Craig Duininck and a 10th round pick (Owen Sound’s) in 2014 to the Sudbury Wolves.
In exchange for Duininck the Sting acquires a 2nd round pick (London’s) in 2014 and overage defenceman Jimmy McDowell.
Abercrombie explains his thoughts on the trade.
“It was tough for us to part with Craig. We are committed to the long term plan we have so it was very important for us to acquire the 2nd round pick and for it to be in 2014. We are also getting a quality player in return in Jimmy. Jimmy is a proven veteran who can come in and help us fill the void left with Craig’s departure. We would like to wish Craig all the best in Sudbury. He has done a lot for our organization and we are extremely grateful.”
