thursday may 30, 2013

The St. Christopher Cyclones will be making their 7th trip in a row to OFSSA after shutting out Kingsville 3 - 0.

"We controlled the ball most of the game with possession about 70 to 30." said head coach Rich Prudom "We moved the ball nicely throughout the game from defense to midfield to the forwards."

Richael O'Neill scored the first two goals for the Cyclones and Matt Cimetta scored the final goal.  Keeper Austin Spearman earned the shut out.

"Defense was outstanding, led by Oren Bell and Matt Stewart and special credit to a few players for offensive play including Trevor McEwen, Danielo Bucci and Matt Cimetta."

In other SWOSSA soccer action the Northern boys were knocked out after taking a 2 - 0 loss against Villanova.  The St. Christopher Ladies also came up short losing to L'Essor 4 - 1.  Nicki Parkes scored the lone goal for the Cyclones.  St. Christopher will have a second chance for a spot at OFSSA when they host Cardinal Carter from Windsor in a challenge game on Friday at 2:00 pm.
