Vision Hockey 2001

The 2001 Vision Hockey Team went undefeated and won their division Championship at the Motown Cup. 

In game one they defeated the Maitland Ice Sharks by a score of 5 - 2.  Travis Tuszynski and Carter Mcllwain each scored 2 goals and Sam Dupuis scored a single. 

In game two the Vision Hockey Team dominated and shut out the Roal Oak Eagles with a final score of 10 - 0.  Brayden Smith led in scoring with 4 goals.  Zach Power scored 3, Sam Dupuis 2 and singles by Brandon Neelin and Ian Lutowicz.  Netminder Brant Galbraith earned the shutout.
 

In the final round robin game Team Vision went up against Team Toledo and won 7 - 1.  Team Toledo opened the scoring early in the first but that was the only goal Team Vision allowed as they went on and scored seven consecutive goals for the win.  Carter McIlwain, Brayden Smith and Sam Dupuis each scored 2 goals apiece and Bailey Smith rounded out the total.  Vision Hockey closed out the tournament with a second meeting with the Maitland Ice Sharks and took the Championship with a 5 - 1 final.

Netminder Brant Galbraith was named the Championship game MVP.  Galbraith allowed 4 goals and earned a shutout in the tournament. "It feels pretty good" said Brant Galbraith about his MVP Award.  

In preparation for games Galbraith said "I listen to tunes and get mentally into the game by visualizing plays".   Galbraith favourite player is Jimmy Howard of the Detroit Red Wings and someday would like to go on to play in the OHL and then NHL.

 

Next up the 2001 Vision Hockey team will compete at the Bluewater Sharks Tournament in Sarnia starting on May 24th.
