Vision Hockey 2002

Vision Hockey 2002 were Tournament Champions at the Motown Cup in Detroit on the long weekend. 

"The boys played really well" said Coach Dale Crombeen.  "They are a good group of boys and they are having a lot of success playing as a team right now."


In round robin action they came up with big scores with a 11 - 2 win over the Top Dog Bulldogs in game one. Matt Gaudrault led the 2002's scoring 5 goals in the game.  Zach Teal and Tate Bowden scored 2 each and singles by Brendan Dickinson and Hunter Sequin. 

Vision Hockey took on Compuware 2002's in game two and defeated them with a final score of 4 - 2.  Tate Bowden scored two goals in the win with singles by Jackson Cole and Zach Teale. 

Game three Vision Hockey shut out the Monroe Ice Hawks 12 - 0. Scoring goals in the win were Jackson Cole, Tate Bowden, Adrian Stubberfield, Ryan Janssens, Matt Gaudrault and Hunter Sequin.

In the Championship game Vision Hockey had a rematch against Compuware and took the Cup with a final score of 7 - 2.  Brendan Dickinson, Tate Bowden, Matt Daudrault and Ryan Janssens scored goals in the win. 

Defenceman Bradley Sleggers was named the Championship Game MVP. 

"Our Goalies and defence played really well" said Crombeen.  "Sometimes defencemen don't get recognized so it was great that Bradley was given the honour." 

 

The Vision Hockey 2002 have competed in three tournaments so far this spring season bringing home two championships and one consolation.  They end the spring season with their final tournament in Sarnia this weekend at the Bluewater Sharks Tournament.
