Windsor, On; The Sarnia Braves traveled to Windsor on Friday night for their second Can Am Baseball League game and lost to the Windsor Selects 4 - 1.
The Selects scored a lone run in the first inning and Sarnia answered back on a RBI by Mike Damchuck in the second. Play continued and score remained even until the fifth inning when the Selects batted in 3 runs that earned the win.
Braves pitcher Anthony Shepherd got the start on the mound pitching 4 1/3 innings and striking out 3, allowing 3 hits and 4 walks and allowing 1 run. Charlie Stubbs finished off the fifth inning and gave up the 3 runs. Wade Babula was the closer and struck out 1, with 0 hits, 0 walks and 0 runs.
The Braves are back in action on Mothers Day (May 12th) at Errol Russell Park against the Windsor Stars. Note time has changed to a 1:00 pm start.
