Lambton Shores Predators Win 1st Playoff Game


Forest, On - The Lambton Shores Predators made franchise history on Saturday winning their first playoff game by defeating the #1 seeded Chatham Maroons with a final score of 3 - 2.  This is the second year that the Predators earned a spot in the Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey league playoffs.  Last year they were swept in the first round Sarnia last year making this game their first playoff win.

 

Lambton took a first period lead at 16:51 on a goal scored by Ferdinando Colella from Kyle Brothers and Adam Arseneault.  Chatham tied the game in the second period at 1:23 with Sean Myers scoring.

 

 Brothers assisted by Ryan Rotondi scored a power play goal late in the period to give the Predators a 2 - 1 lead heading into the third. 

 

Again Chatham answered back at 5:58 with Brennan Feasey scoring the equalizer. 

 

At 16:12  Nick Sproveiro from Rotondi and Jim McKinlay put the Predators in the lead and they held on to take the win and to tie the series at   1 - 1.

 

Brandon Campbell held strong in net for the Predators making 36 saves in the game.  Darien Ekblad took the loss with 33 saves.

 

Action resumes on Sunday as the Predators travel to Chatham for game three.  Game time 7:00 pm.
