The Sarnia Jr Lady Sting Atom C Team will be entertaining a special guest on Sunday June 23. Canadian Olympic Goal Medal Hockey Player Hayley Wickenheiser will join the team at the Point Edward Arena between 4 and 6 pm.
In the spring of 2012 Haley Wickenheiser ran a contest called “Why Girls Rock” encouraging teams to submit videos. Sarnia Jr Sting team member Tori Iacobelli was encouraged by her family to enter. Iacobelli completed the video and it appeared on Wickenheiser’s website and YouTube.
Word spread like wild fire throughout the girls hockey community and family and friends and the voting began and the video received the most votes.
Wickenheiser will speak from 4:30 – 5:00 pm followed by a game of Ball Hockey with the team.
The Public is invited to come out on Sunday to meet one of Canada’s greatest inspirations and role model.
