Point Edward Pacers Split a Pair over the Weekend

The Point Edward Pacers went 1 and 1 over the weekend.  On  Saturday the Pacers were in Guelph and defeated the Rebels 15 - 13.  The Pacers went up 5 - 2 in the first period and held onto a 11 - 9  lead in the second after Guelph scored seven goals to Pacers six.  In the final period both sides posted four goals apiece with the last Pacer goal scored into the empty net.  TJ Mara was the top point getter with a total of seven scoring three goals and four assists.  Dan Charlton totalled six points with four goals and two assists.  Kevin Conroy also earned six points with two goals and four assists.  AP player Cory Burr and Liam Wright each scored two and singles by Brandan Burr and Connor Wright.Ian Ferguson earned the win in net for the Pacers.

On Sunday the Pacers were back at home hosting the Orangeville Northmen and dropped a 25 - 14 decision.  Point Edward took 0 11 - 8  lead after the first period but came up short in the second by being kept off the scoreboard and the Northmen added nine goals to take a 17 - 11 lead.  In the third Orangeville again outscored the Pacers 8 to  3.  Dan Charlton led the Pacers earning seven points with three goals and four assists.  Other goal scorers for the Pacers were Connor Smith with three, Kevin Conroy, TJ Mara and Connor Wright each with two goals and singles by Ryan Devine and Liam Wright.

Ian Ferguson went fifty two minutes for the Pacers making 30 saves.  Reece Landeryou came in late in the third making six saves.

The Pacers are now 4 - 9 with a total of 8 points.  On Wednesday June 12 they host Wallaceburg who are currently 6 - 8 for the season for a total of 12 points.  Game time 8:00 pm.
