Sarnia FC U11 Premier Notch Another Road Win

thursday july 4, 2013

The Sarnia FC U11 Boys team travelled down Hwy #40 to take on the Chatham Attack in LDYSL action.  This was a "make-up" game as the first scheduled match was cancelled due to weather.  In this close game Sarnia defeated Chatham 5 - 4.

Sarnia would open the game with high intensity and a strong pace looking to control most possession. Their determination would not go unrewarded as they would take the early lead. Mid-fielder James Brown would send the perfect through ball to a sprinting Mateo Troiani who would not disappoint as he slid the ball past the charging Chatham keeper. A few minutes later Sarnia would up their lead by two as center-midfielder Kyle Flamminio would pound a loose ball into the open left corner of the Chatham goal.  Sarnia would continue their dominance of play and increase their lead as they approached the half-time whistle. Striker Mateo Troiani would receive the ball from fellow striker Ryan Janssens and hammer it home with his left foot beyond the reach of the Attack goalie. Chatham would answer back quickly and close out the half down by two goals.

At the beginning of the second half Sarnia would once again pressure early. Left mid-fielder Dominic Krasinkiewicz would find himself alone in front of the Chatham goal and blast an errand ball into the back of the net. A few minutes later Chatham would be rewarded a PK for a tackle inside the box.  A strong Chatham shot would find its way home beyond the strong diving effort of the Sarnia keeper, Andrew Harron.  Sarnia FC would gain their last goal of the evening when Striker Michael Howe would dribble around a Chatham defender and blast a low drive into the right corner of the net.  Chatham would not give up and took the game to Sarnia in the last fifteen minutes of play. They would show their resilience and fire back two unanswered goals to bring the game within one however Sarnia's back six stood tall denying most opportunities. Very strong defensive play was evident from:  Alex Newall, Dean Palimaka, Christian D' Agostini, Quinn Beauregard, Jack Hutchinson and Cameron Hoek!  The Sarnia mid-field also played a very  solid game. All offensive players demonstrated great skill and composure. Great effort from: James 'Jimmy' Brown, Isaiah Edlington, Carter Barron, Nathan Hawkes, Dominic Krasinkiewicz, Mateo Troiani, Ryan Janssens, Kyle Flamminio and Michael Howe. Solid goaltending from Sarnia keeper Andrew Harron.

The Sarnia FC  Premier team will now travel to Barrie over the week-end to participate in the "All Star Challenge".
