Welcome Hatfield Ice Dogs

The Hatfiled Ice Dogs Midget AA team were at Sarnia Arena for their first game on Friday night. The Ice Dogs are from Hatfield Pennsylvania.  and they traveled 12 hours by bus to compete at the 44th Annual Silver Stick Tournament in Sarnia. 

At home in league action the team's record is 28 - 6 - 1 and the  Team went undefeated and allowed only 7 goals to win the Philadelphia Region Silver Stick tournament in West Chester, PA. to earn a spot in the Finals in Sarnia.

On Friday night before their opening game a spokesman for the team said "We had a good nights rest and we are ready to go. We came to Win!"

Unfortunately the team went 0 - 3 in the tournament. On Friday they battled hard against the Ottawa Sting and took a 7 - 4 loss.  They returned to the ice on Saturday morning and fell to the Barrie Colts 5 - 2.  And on Saturday afternoon the Ice Dogs lost a close battle against Chicago that ended with a final score of 3 - 1.
 

The team is coached by Tom Slattery, Pat Lyons, Dave Rainie and Steve Delany.

Team spokesman after their final game said "We had a great time, but unfortunately we didn't win."  the team leaves early Sunday to make the 12 hour trip back home.
