After a defeat last time the Jr Sting met the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs the Sting boys were hoping for a better result with their home game on Saturday - they weren't disappointed.In the first period action went end to end until Elgin seized the puck and scored the first goal of the game. Great defensive play in the first by net minder Luc Thorne-Smith and defender Ryan Barwitzki who was left alone on one play and made a great defensive play to stop the shot.
With the Chiefs leading 1 - 0 heading into the second period the action continued. Nolan DeGurse carried the puck into the Elgin zone and scored an unassisted goal to equalize the game. The Chiefs game back to regain the lead after scoring a power play goal.In the third period period Jaxon Shelton made a passed out front to Spencer Vandenboom who shot it in for the equalizer. The Jr Sting took the lead for the first time on the power play with Dylan Riddell scoring assisted by DeGurse. Elgin pulled their goalie for the extra man but the Sting held off the attack to take the win with a final score of 3 - 2.

The following day the boys travel to London to face the London Knights and came up short taking an 8 - 0 loss.
Next weekend the Minor Peewee face Sun County at home.
