The 15th Annual Sarnia Girls Silver Stick concluded on Sunday with two local teams winning their division.

 

 

The Peewee A team went 2 - 1 in pool play.  In their first game the Lady Sting lost to Oakville 2 - 1, defeated Clearview 4 -  1 and took a 3 - 2 win over Windsor.  In the quarter final round Sarnia battled another close game and defeated London 4 - 3.  In the semi-final game Sarnia fought hard and won with a final score of 3 - 2 over St. Marys.  In the Championship game the team met up again with Oakville who had handed them their only loss, this time it was Sarnia who came out on top with a final score of 3 - 1 to win the Silver Stick Peewee A title.

 

 

The Sarnia Lady Peewee B team had two wins and a tie to take 1st place after the round robin.  In game one they went 3 - 3 against Lucan.  In their second game the Lady B team defeated Orillia 6 - 1 and went on and defeated Walkerton 2 - 1.  In the semi final they were matched up once again against Walkerton and won with a final score of 6 - 2.  In the championship game they went up against Lucan once again and in a close final they held on to win the title with a final score of 1 - 0.

 

In other local results the Sarnia Lady Sting Midget AA team was first in their pool with a 3 - 1 win over Willowdale and 6 - 0 win over Colorado.  In the quarter final round they were knocked out by Haldimand 2 - 0 who went on and won their division.

 

The Sarnia Midget A team went 0 - 2 - 1 in the tournament.  In their first game they went up against Windsor and took a loss with a final score of 2 - 1.  Sarnia and Clearview skated to a 2 - 2 tie in their second game and in the final lost out to Whitby by a score of 3  - 0.

 

The Petrolia Midget B team played well and lost out in the Semi - Final round to Grey Highlands with a final score of 3 - 1.  Leading up to the semi-finals Petrolia went undefeated with 3 wins and 1 tie.  The Petrolia Ladies defeated Chatsworth 4 -2 in the first game and shut out Milverton 5 - 0 in their second.  In their final pool division play they skated to a 0 - 0  tie against Woodstock.  In the quarter final they met up against Milverton and once again defeated them by a final score of 3 - 2.

 

Mooretown's St. Clair Storm Midget B Ladies went 1 - 2 in the tournament.  In their first game the Storm were shut out 4 - 0 by Lambeth.

In their second game Mooretown defeated Mt. Brydges with a 1 - 0 shut out win and in their final game they took a 4 - 2 loss against Grey Highlands who went on and won the Midget B title.
